Opis
The CJH Olive Green FRN, Black was designed as a simple, rugged field tool – no folding mechanisms, no components prone to play or wear. The fixed-type design guarantees full rigidity, which is crucial when working with wood, preparing firewood or doing camp work. This is a model that focuses on functionality and resilience rather than showy styling. The drop point profile blade offers good tip control and versatility of use – from precision cuts to more forceful operations. The flat grind promotes efficient cutting through organic materials while maintaining adequate stability of the cutting edge. The 7Cr17MoV steel was selected with practicality in mind: it is corrosion-resistant and easy to sharpen, allowing the blade to quickly return to full performance in field conditions. The black finish of the blade reduces reflections and further protects the surface. The FRN composite handle is contoured for a secure grip in varying weather conditions. The textured surface promotes control even with wet hands or gloves. A nylon sheath is included for secure carrying at the belt. This is a tool for users who expect durability and field readiness.
7Cr17MoV is a martensitic chromium steel, often referred to as an improved version of 440A steel. Its nominal chemical composition includes about 0.60-0.75% carbon (C) and 16.0-18.0% chromium (Cr), with additions of molybdenum (Mo) and vanadium (V) in smaller amounts. The higher chromium content provides very good corrosion resistance in typical environments. Carbon is responsible for the hardness, which can reach about 56-58 HRC after appropriate heat treatment, which is sufficient for many applications. Molybdenum increases hardenability and improves resistance to pitting corrosion, while vanadium contributes to the formation of fine carbides, which increases abrasion resistance and allows the cutting edge to remain sharp longer. 7Cr17MoV steel is widely used in the mass production of kitchen knives, everyday folding knives (EDCs), multi-tools and outdoor equipment, where a good combination of corrosion resistance, acceptable hardness and ease of sharpening is crucial.
Blade – drop point profile provides a balance between precision and toughness. The pronounced tip facilitates controlled handling of the blade, while the strong ridged line supports work under load. The flat grind gives the blade a usable geometry, allowing it to penetrate the material efficiently while maintaining structural stability. This configuration works well when planing, preparing firewood or performing camp work requiring control of the cutting path. The 7Cr17MoV steel offers corrosion resistance and simple maintenance – important in outdoor conditions. The black surface finish reduces glare and gives the design a technical, utilitarian feel.
Handle – made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) combines mechanical resistance with low weight. The material stands up well to contact with moisture and temperature changes, making it a practical choice for survival applications. The profile of the Handle features a pronounced finger undercut and a non-slip texture, increasing grip stability for power work. The design is complemented by a safety cable hole, allowing for additional security of the knife in the field. The included nylon sheath allows for convenient belt carry and quick access to the tool. The Herbertz CJH Olive Green is a durable fixed designed as a practical support for camping, expeditions and everyday outdoor activities.
