N690- corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with the addition of molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V) and cobalt 1.50% (Co) for structural uniformity. Features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. It achieves a hardness of 57-60 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade – sharp with a Tanto profile, 4 mm thickness with – blood groove and increasing the piercing properties with a false blade.The blade was covered with a non-reflective mat MIL-C-13924 BURNISHING coating. Smooth blade (Plain type) was made with a flat cut (Flat grind) grind ensuring good cutting properties. On the back of the blade was placed a notched back for the thumb (ramp).
Handle – covered with non-slip facings of rubber-like properties, made of elastic thermoplastic Forprene (elastic return, softness, resistance to chemicals), ensures a secure grip even with wet hands. The steel head can act as a hammer / glass breaker.
Sheath – light, made of nylonmaterial in the black color. The versatile openwork Aspis holster protects the knife against falling out (latch) and makes it easier to dry the blade. The system of two adjustable multi-position clamps enables quick attachment of the sheath to M.O.L.L.E.
