1.4034 (4H13 / X46Cr13)is one of the most popular steels used in knifemaking and tool production. It is a tool steel with a high carbon content and additives such as molybdenum, vanadium, chromium and tungsten, which gives it exceptional mechanical properties. Thanks to the high chromium content (approx. 13%), it is characterized by excellent corrosion resistance and good hardness. This makes knives made of this steel ideal for use in wet environments and for contact with food. 1.4034 steel is also used for surgical knives, medical tools and machine parts that require high corrosion resistance and good mechanical strength.
