All blades ofMAM Filmamknives are made of high-qualityAISI 420stainless steel from German Thyssen-Krupp steel mills which is treated and hardened as for VG-10 steel, thus achieving the use of the maximum capabilities of 420 steel. Additions of molybdenum, vanadium, silicon and carbon make the steel hardenable up to 57 HRC, and provide strength, toughness, machinability and excellent corrosion resistance. The high carbon content produces chromium carbide compounds, providing wear resistance and holding the sharpness of the cutting edge after hardening. Special machines are used for machining, regularly tested by the company’s technicians
Blade – made of high quality German (ThyssenKrupp) AISI 420 stainless steel. Smooth blade (Plain type) was made with full flat cut (Full Flat Grind), which in combination with a slight blade thickness ensures above average cutting properties. The knife is opened with a cut on the blade nail nick.
Handle – made of one piece of wood, lacquered on brown color, durable, light beech wood, finished with a metal ring on the blade side. Thanks to the impregnation process, the handle is resistant to moisture and to sweet and salt water. The ergonomic grip profile does not cause fatigue during use.
