Ultratech Gen III ZBP D/E Signature Shadow DLC Aluminum, Shadow DLC P/S is a new addition to the Ultratech series – Microtech’s first OTF knife without any blade play when unfolded! Theblade play free automatic is distinguished by a number of improvements such as; Crud Kutter™, Dual-Fuel Drive Train™, Zero Blade Play™. The Handle was also redesigned, equipping it with solutions known from other models. Working in D/A (Double Action) mode, it allows the blade to be instantly extended and retracted with a single thumb movement. Zero Blade Play™ – a redesigned blade locking system, getting rid of the affliction of most OTF knives, i.e. play on the blade when opened.
Dual-Fuel Drive Train™ – an upgraded knife opening/closing system, the mechanism works smoother and requires less force to open/close the knife.
Crud Kutter™ – a series of beveled notches under the opening slide, prevents the accumulation of dirt that could interfere with the opening mechanism.
Ultratech OTF Line – Microtech’s flagship OTFLine model, which set the standard for allOut The Front knives. Ultratech’s proprietary trigger spring design, which remains in a “resting” position at all times, except when used. This prevents the spring from fatigue, reducing wear and tear on the internal trigger mechanisms which ensures that the knife will always function effectively. The light weight, one-handed opening and closing capability, slim Handle shape and sharp blade make it a one-of-a-kind knife, available only from Microtech.
Shadow Series – knives in this series are distinguished by their completely black finish on the blade, handle, hardware, and clip, making them some of the most discreet Microtech models available on the market.
Signature Series – an elite line of Microtech products designed for buyers who are looking for a more exclusive touch to the much-loved Core Series production models (logo with claws on the knife). The highest quality materials and finishes are often used in the production of Signature Series knives. The line also includes themed knives such as Bounty Hunter, Memento Mori and Molon Labe. A distinctive feature is the marking with the dagger logo on the Handle and Anthony Marfione’s signature on the clip.
M390MK – thanks to the cooperation of Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel made only for Microtech was created. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to closer scrutiny thus improving the properties of M390 steel for better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) doped with 1.95% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened between 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter’s CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.

DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) durability of the blade surface is enhanced with a matte black nanocomposite coating, which exhibits unique properties such as exceptional hardness and low friction, as well as excellent corrosion protection. It is one of the most resistant coatings to scratches and abrasion that are used in the industry, including the knife industry.
Blade – machine ground D/E(Double Edge) Dagger type, sharpened on both sides, P/S(PartiallySerrated)on both sides. Coated withblack Shadow DLC coating. The blade was brought out with a highflat grind, providing excellent cutting properties. As a result, while maintaining high strength, the knife has excellent piercing properties. The powerful Dual-Fuel Drive Train™ blade extension/retraction mechanism, actuated by a mottled Thumb Slide, a stepped thumb slide, requires for safety the application of a specific force to overcome the spring resistance. The opening method provides a seamless opening for both right- and left-handed people. Under the zipper, the Crud Kutter™ system notches to prevent dirt collection.
Handle – made with excellent precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from Cerakote™ hard coated 6061-T6 aluminum. Blade side deeply engraved with Microtech logo, claw of a bird of prey. The surface texture of the Handle makes the knife non-slip in the hand during use. There are notches (jimping) on the back and bottom of the handle for a more secure grip. Traditional torx screws are used to screw the grips together, which makes it superbly easy to service the knife. The slim profile and milled two-position (right/left) solid titanium deep-carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in a pocket, in tip-down (blade tip down) position. Equipped with a smooth rollerball, which allows the knife to slide easily into the pocket without damaging the edges of the pocket. The Handle is finished with a new version of glass breaker, a steel pyramid, into which a tungsten carbide ball has been pressed. On the back of the Handle there is a hole for interweaving a decorative cord.
