Byrd Robin 2 FRN Blue, a medium-sized, ultra-light folder is a combination of small size with the functionality of a large knife. The folder is characterized by – excellent design – exemplary ergonomics – easy to carry – excellent value for money! An excellent choice to start your adventure with Spyderco. Available with linings in brown, gray and blue.
Blade – with Drop Point profile made of well-sharpening, easy to sharpen 8Cr13MoV stainless steel (equivalent to Japanese AUS-8 steel). Smooth blade (Plain type) was made with a full flat cut (Flat Grind) reducing the weight of the knife. The notched fragment of the blade’s back, the ramp (jimping / crosshatching) positions the thumb and gives a solid support, and the arched undercut of the index finger between the handle and the cutting edge (finger choil jimping) facilitates folder handling. Comet-shaped notch (Spyderco patent) for quick blade opening. Blade blockade: Back-Lock type with protection against accidental release of the lock during a firm grip (cutout in the lock).
Frame – reinforced with stainless steel plates to which the claddings are attached, ensures the strength of the structure. The phosphor bronze pads ensure trouble-free smooth opening and closing of the penknife.
Handle – non-slip textured in two directions claddings (Bi-Directional Texturing) strengthen the grip also with wet hands. Covers in trendy blue color. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) plastic, fiberglass-reinforced nylon. Sturdy metal hourglass clip with four-way attachment (up / down, right / left) 4-way clip positions. Spine Jimping notched notches on the backs of the handle increase comfort and grip. The hole (lanyard hole) allows you to attach a safety cord.
