SUB 9 STILETTO BLACK 2 compact diver’s knife (back-up) of full tang construction with a fixed blade coated in matte black Manufactured by the Italian company MAC Coltellerie. Suitable for use during diving expeditions and on land.
W 1.4116, X50CrMoV15 – molybdenum-vanadium steel used for high-end knives, cutlery and surgical instruments. It is characterized by a fairly high hardness, as for stainless steels. Resistant to corrosion under kitchen conditions. It is a recommendable alternative to 1.4034 / X46Cr13 / 4H13 material. The chemical composition is enriched with Chromium content, Molybdenum and Vanadium addition.
Regular maintenance of W 1.4116, X50CrMoV15 stainless steel prevents the formation of deposits and maintains its shine. It also facilitates the removal of spots and tarnish. Cleaning should be done before there is a visible layer of dirt or fingerprints, so the danger of permanent discoloration of the steel surface is minimized. For cleaning, do not use agents that contain: chlorine, salt, acids and bleach.
Blade – with Dagger (dagger) profile, both sides with excellent cutting properties were derived with Flat Grind. One of the blades fully smooth Plain, the other serrated Serrated ending on the side of the tip with a few millimeters of smooth blade. The Serrated blade is used in diving, rescue and survival knives, ideal for aggressive cutting of hard materials, plastics and fibrous materials such as ropes and nets. The blade is coated with a matte, scratch-resistant non-reflective IDROGLIDER GOLD® Black coating.
Handle – in black. Covered with non-slip textured facings with rubber-like properties, made of thermoplastic elastomer, also known as TPE thermoplastic rubber (guarantees a firm grip in aqueous environments), combined with PP polymer. The ergonomic shape of the facings prevents the hand from slipping while working. In the rear part of the grip a hole (lanyard hole) for pulling the safety line.
Sheath – made of PE (polyethylene) plastic with holes for drainage of water, moisture. The holster is equipped with a latch to prevent the knife from slipping out in water. The sheath comes with two rubber straps and 2 plastic buckles for attaching the case to the hand, leg or to a vest.
