AISI 420 (American Iron and Steel Institute) martensitic stainless steel rich in 0.15% carbon, containing min. 12% chromium, which offers high hardenability in the range of 54-56 HRC as well as strength, ductility, machinability and excellent corrosion resistance. The high carbon content produces chromium carbide compounds for wear resistance and edge retention when cured. Due to its high hardness, the steel is suitable for the production of cutting tools, knife blades and medical tools.
SlipJoint – A „no-locking” non-locking mechanism used in folders where the blade is held open by spring pressure against a flat notch on the back of the blade tang during use. Slip Joint holds the blade in both folded and unfolded positions. When folding, it generates smooth resistance as in a knife equipped with a traditional lock.
Blade – a slender, smooth Plain blade with a Clip Point profile, made with a full flat grind (Full Flat Grind).
